Kristian Vogel
Saxophones
Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Kristian Vogel completed a Bachelor of Performing Arts degree at the University of Regina, studying with Karen Finnsson and Jennifer Tenford. Kristian also studied jazz saxophone with Chris Jacklin and Trent Reschny. Following this, he completed a Master of Performing Arts Degree at the University of Toronto, studying with Dr. Wallace Halladay.
Kristian has done masterclasses with artists such as Arno Bornkamp, Dr. Timothy McAllister, Dr. Otis Murphy, The Donald Sinta Quartet, Quasar Saxophone quartet, and more. Some of Kristian's accolades include winning the 2019 Regina Music Festival Lion's Competition, 2021 University of Toronto Winds Concerto Competition, and the 2023 Regina Musical Club's Recital Competition, among others.
Kristian stays active locally with his saxophone quartet, Reed Aloud, in which he plays Soprano Saxophone and also leads the Kristian Vogel Quartet. Kristian has performed with the Regina Symphony Orchestra and the Regina Jazz Orchestra.
