Jeremy Drotar
Bass Trombone
Jeremy is the bass trombone player for the Regina Jazz Orchestra. Jeremy has been playing professionally and working as a music educator for well more than a couple of decades. In the classical music world, he has played with the Saskatoon Symphony, Saskatoon Opera Orchestra, and has held the position of Bass Trombone and Assistant Principal for the Regina Symphony Orchestra since 2015.
In the jazz world, in addition to playing in many smaller jazz ensembles over the years, Jeremy had the privilege of playing tenor and bass trombone in the band that preceded the Regina Jazz Orchestra - the Bob Moyer Big Band - under the direction of Brent Ghiglione. Jeremy has also been known to occasionally perform with other groups from popular and folk music genres.
When not performing on trombone or teaching, Jeremy enjoys playing guitar and bass, camping, hiking, board games, canoeing, sailing, woodworking, travelling, and terrible dad jokes.
